remember how i always try to have a segment

It's when
I'll come up with a statement
that I personally belief in.

the statement is:
"I believe that marriage in Singapore is a legal trap for men"

First, some background information from The Law Society Of Singapore

So in a marriage, all is well if the husband and wife is happy.
however, as we know, it is not true for most marriages,
especially in Singapore.

And in a divorce case, the judge would deal in matters
such as
maintenance;
other ancillary matters (for example the division of matrimonial assets, including the matrimonial home).

Now, it is no surprise that most of the time,
it is the WIFE who demands maintenance.
This is no stereotype.
you know and i know it's true.
Division of matrimonial assets.
in which the wife would want either half of the house
or the whole thing.

NOW.
One is allowed to purchase a HDB flat
only when they get married.
so it HAS to be a matrimonial asset.
Even though most of the time,
it would be the husband paying for it.
Or if the women is working,
the husband may end up paying a bulk of it.
(This is HDB we're talking about, not private housing;
so the couple has to be relatively not rich)

And now, in a case of the divorce,
the house would have to be split into half?!
or at least a little would have to be given to the wife.
this.is.utterly.absurd!
